An Evening at a Premium Taipei Lounge
If you have never been to a premium lounge you might wonder what to wear, how to order, whether tipping is expected or if photos are allowed. Using 1884 Taipei as the example, here's a full walk-through of a night out.
Arrival: dress code and welcome
Most premium Taipei lounges skip a strict dress code, but skip flip-flops, athletic shorts and sleeveless tops. Smart casual — or a slightly dressier date-night look — is right.
1884 Taipei's entrance is deliberately low-key. Once inside, a host escorts you to your reserved room or bar seat. If you get the wrong floor, our signage and the address in your LINE confirmation will point you back.
Ordering: even if you don't know cocktails
Tell the bartender your preferences — fruit-forward, herbal and clean, smoky and rich, or curious about the house signatures. Naming a favourite fruit, an ABV comfort zone and whether you like sour is usually enough to get a drink built for you.
We also carry non-alcoholic craft cocktails, Japanese whisky, champagne and sake. Food ranges from small plates and salads to pasta, risotto, grills and desserts, designed to pair with conversation.
In the room and checking out
Inside a private room, feel free to shoot photos, play music and speak freely. Staff step in only to top up drinks or bring food, and will adjust lighting, HVAC and volume on request.
Settle at your seat by card or mobile pay when you leave. Tipping is not expected. If you enjoyed the night, a Google review or an IG mention means a lot.
